Summer Fun and Big Big Big Stuffed Animals

This summer was full of fun activities for the girls.  They did more swimming than they ever have, and they enjoyed their time at "Camp G" and other fun activities.

Our big trip for the summer was a week in San Diego with Grandma and Grandpa and the Cousins.

We also came home with a new family member.  Here is his photo:

This animal is BIG.  HUGE.  It's a giant purpose hippo-dinosaur thingy.  It's incredibly soft, and Caroline has been sleeping on it since it came home with us.

Caroline is the one who won it.  It happened at LEGOLAND on the "Raptor Climb",which is one of those carnival games where you have to climb a rope ladder and ring a bell without flipping off:

Caroline somehow convinced me that she could to it, and darned if she wasn't right!

We are proud of her, and glad to have "Hippy" as our new family member!

21st Century Kid

Harrison is 12 months old, and getting pretty smart.

Here he is playing with our printer in our bedroom.  Up until recently, it was fairly easy to keep him from messing with it because I could just turn the printer OFF.

If you'll notice the photo however, you'll see that the printer is on.

That's because H has figured out how to turn the darn thing on!  What can I say, he's a 21st century kid.  I'm surprised he isn't texting before he can talk!

Corned beef and cabbage

Harrison at 8 months.  He was getting good at sitting up with the help of the Boppy.

When I was growing up, my father always made corned beef and cabbage for St Patrick's Day.  I am not sure if it was because he was named after an Irish name.  I suspect he just liked the dish since we didn't do anything else festive to celebrate.  I have tried to continue this tradition with my family.  I think Dad would be proud.

Our family celebrity

Katherine made the school Jump Rope Team.  She was one of the only two 2nd graders to make the team.  Students typically have to be in 3rd-5th grades to make the team.   They practice once a week after school.  The team coordinates jump rope routines to music.  They perform for the school and also made guest performances at local neighborhood schools to promote healthy living.  Katherine said that as the team was leaving one school, the students behaved like fans and ran to the gate as if they were celebrities.  I think she had a glimpse of what life as Katy Perry might be like.

Go Niners!

The San Francisco 49ers made the playoffs that year.   Harrison wore his 49er outfit to support his team.

Christmas 2012

Caroline lost her two front teeth!

Katherine's photos

Harrison loved the Whoozit just like the girls!

Harrison 4 months old

Harrison is a very happy and good baby.  He has a friendly demeanor and smiles a lot.  He is entertained by his sisters who do a great job at playing with him.

Halloween 2012

At Pastorino's farm in Half Moon Bay

We took this photo so that Harrison would know he was there too.

Katherine was our little devil that year.

Harrison Two Months Old

Harrison napped on my shoulder almost daily during my 4 month maternity leave.

Here he is sleeping comfortably on my nursing pillow.

We went for a walk around the neighborhood and it wiped him out!

Family time with Grandma.
